I wrote this on the 8th of December, 2001.

Why do we often have to say goodbye
To those who are deep inside our hearts
Why don't we just spend our lifetimes together
Without saying a single goodbye

Why do we often start searching for someone else
Who can give us the same love and care
Why do we accept replacing our beloved
By those who are less dear to our hearts

Why do we give up easily
When lonliness attacks our peace
Why do we sometimes have to hide our feelings
For fear of being misunderstood

Why do we sometimes have tender feelings
For those who would never appreciate them
Why do we sometimes find a big conflict
Between how we feel and how we should feel

Why do we sometimes choose the road
That can never lead to our happiness
For the sake of those who would never realize
We simply did that just to please them
